Blasting Operator 2nd Shift 2:30pm to 11pm

Essential Functions

Conducts oneself according to the verbal and written instructions given by Production and Quality Departments, and according to Internal policies, procedures and standards of behavior.
Prepares parts prior to grit blasting by taping/masking surfaces to protect surfaces during the blasting cycle.
Maintains blasting cabinets by following instructions for adjustments, cleaning, setting proper pressures, etc.
Operates grit-blasting cabinets (20, 220 etc.) according to instructions given by the production department.
Loads parts in grit blasting cabinets.
Operates quality control devices according to instructions.
Fills out travelers accurately, completely and timely for all parts processed.
Supports and follows QMS guidelines and directions.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Performs additional duties from time to time as requested by the supervisor.

Understands and adheres to proper grit blasting techniques for preparing and finishing parts.
Is very precise and can follow verbal and written instructions, attention to details.
Reads and follows technical instructions in travelers.
Comprehends and can write numbers in proper units of measure.
Comprehends technical drawings.
Understands and uses caliper, micrometer, scale, calculator and various other measuring devices.
Practices proper safety guidelines and wears appropriate Personal Protection Equipment.
Ability to work cooperatively and respectfully with coworkers.
Ability to bend, twist, climb, stoop or stand.
Ability to spend time sitting at a desk or workstation.
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
An essential function for this position, based on business necessity, is that the employee must be physically in attendance at his/her workstation at the designated company office location during the normal business hours.

Working Conditions

This position is an inside position working 100% of the time in a non-climate controlled environment.
