Local Residents share their artistry during National Poetry Month

As Richland Library continues our celebration of National Poetry Month throughout April, we’re excited to feature the creativity and inspiration of local artists during two upcoming programs.

Please join us on the following dates:

A Poet’s Point of View
6 – 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 21
Richland Library Online
Hear from special guest poets Kyla Jenee Lacey, Justin Blackburn and Moody Black. During this intimate conversation, gain insight into what it’s like to make a living from writing and performing poetry. Also, discover how artists are preserving the culture of spoken word. Poetry in the Garden
6:30 – 8 p.m., Friday, April 23
Hampton-Preston Mansion and Gardens (1615 Blanding St.)
Enjoy an evening that accentuates words, rhythm and music from our current artist-in-residence (AiR), Tammaka Staley, and former AiR The Dubber. We also plan to have special guest performances from past contributors of our annual Kids in Print literary magazine. Please bring blankets or chairs for lawn seating during this outdoor community program. Face coverings are required for children ages three and older. Register at richlandlibrary.com.
