A M King demonstrates unwavering commitment to Ronald McDonald House

A M King, an Integrated Design-Build firm with an established presence in the Upstate, was a proud supporter of the 16th annual Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Carolinas (RMHCC) Golf Classic which took place last month at The Preserve at Verdae Golf Club. A M King’s Andre Harris, Greenville Business Unit Leader, together with A M King Superintendent Mitch Pingry, participated in the all-day event, which raised funds to ensure that families can stay together during a medical crisis at their home away from home – Ronald McDonald House of Greenville. In addition, A M King sponsored the Pairings Party held at Top Golf Greenville the evening before the tournament.
“It costs Ronald McDonald House approximately $142 per night to accommodate families who must stay an average of 17 nights during their child’s treatment. Providing a safe, affordable and caring home-away-from-home during difficult times is an ongoing goal for RMHCC. A M King is committed to helping this special organization support families in need throughout the year in a variety of ways,” said Harris.
For example, last year A M King’s Greenville team repeatedly collected a rolling cart full of toiletries to donate – toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, deodorant, razors, shaving cream, shampoo, conditioner, combs, masks, tissues, hand sanitizer, wipes, and more. “Travel-sized toiletries are a consistent need at the Ronald McDonald House,” said Harris. “Each time we contribute, there is an incredible sense of accomplishment that our team is working together to make a difference.”
Prior to COVID, A M King’s Greenville team made a point to take a turn as Guest Chef at RMH on a quarterly basis, meeting at the House to prepare homemade meals for families staying there. In 2020, knowing that folks still required sustenance at the end of a long day at the hospital, A M King employees kept to their original schedule by providing meals for families at the house by way of meal cards and/or catering.
A M King’s ongoing community service initiatives directed to Ronald McDonald House in Greenville (Ronald McDonald Charities of the Carolinas) complements the company’s longstanding partnership with the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte.
