Chip Walters, Founder and Executive Director, Sidewalk Hope
Sidewalk Hope is a mobile children’s church that makes weekly site visits year-round to housing developments in Spartanburg, SC. Using a modified box truck with a drop-down side that converts into a stage, and complete with media needs, Sidewalk Hope can take the gospel of Christ to the children directly where they live. Each visit consists of praise and worship, Biblical teaching, games, Scripture memory, a meal, and individual or group prayer time. Sidewalk Hope currently serves 200-250 children per week.
In 2020, Chip Walters was selected as the 2020 recipient of the prestigious Mary L. Thomas Award for Civic Leadership & Community Change.
