BASF in Seneca donates $5,000 and personal hygiene items to Grace’s Closet

October 6, 2021

BASF’s site in Seneca, South Carolina recently donated $5,000 to Grace’s Closet, along with personal hygiene items such as soap, toothpaste, shampoo and more. The donation will provide students in the area with access to essential personal care items through the Grace’s Closet stores located within area schools. Grace’s Closet helps students build self-confidence and success by furnishing basic resources like food, clothing, school supplies and hygiene items without the stress of economic hardship.

“Many of our BASF colleagues took on this challenge and donated to support the children in our local schools,” said Elba Lizardi, Site Director at the BASF site in Seneca. “This effort in collaboration with Grace’s Closet underscores BASF’s commitment to being a good neighbor in our community.”

BASF is a member of the Keowee Key Community Partnership, an organization that brings community partners together to improve the lives of people in Oconee County.

“What an amazing turnout by the employees of BASF! We are so thankful to receive these much needed hygiene items, in addition to the very generous donation of $5,000,” said Director of Grace’s Closet Julie-Ann Shannon. “With these gifts, it makes it possible for students in Oconee County to have access to needed basic resources to help improve their self-esteem as they seek stability while going to school.”
