October 19, 2021

Countybank and Greenwood Capital donated $50,000 as part of their annual Pacesetter Campaign to the United Way of Greenville County. Associates from both organizations made personal pledge donations totaling $39,157 as part of the employee campaign, plus an additional $843 as part of its monthly Casual for a Cause fundraiser. The Countybank Foundation provided an additional campaign contribution of $10,000.

“2021 has been a challenging year for so many in our community, which makes financial support from organizations like Countybank and Greenwood Capital even more important,” said United Way of Greenville County President and CEO Meghan Barp. “Because of their generosity, we will be there to ensure all people in Greenville County have access to opportunities to achieve their full potential.”

“Partnering with United Way allows us to give back to our community,” said Shellie Miller, Senior Trust Operations Manager for Countybank and this year’s Pacesetter Campaign chair. “We recognize the importance of supporting United Way this year in their efforts to make the Upstate a better place to live.”

Dollars raised in the campaign will support United Way’s work to mobilize people and resources to improve lives, strengthen the community, and advance equity for the benefit of all. Donations support more than 70 programs and initiatives addressing basic needs, education, and economic mobility.

“We are pleased with the extremely high level of participation that our associates demonstrate during our annual campaign for the benefit of the United Way of Greenville County,” said Ken Harper, Chief Operating Officer for Countybank, who also serves on the Board of Directors for United Way of Greenville County. “We understand how diligently the United Way works to get resources to those who need it most, and it is our privilege to assist in this effort. The United Way of Greenville County has such a positive impact across the Greenville area, and we’re especially proud to support that effort this year.”
