Greenville Technical College honors students to be automatically admitted to Limestone University’s Honors College

October 29, 2021

A new agreement between Greenville Technical College (GTC) and Limestone University will allow graduates of GTC’s Honors Program to be automatically admitted into the Limestone Honors College if they meet all requirements, bypassing the typical application process.

Benefits of the Limestone Honors College include access outside of business hours to the Honors College house, a $500 renewable stipend per year, priority registration, and priority housing selection when they live with another honors student. Honors students are entitled to single-bedroom housing in a four-person suite on Limestone’s Campus. They are also invited to participate in funded research-presentation opportunities, if eligible, at the Southern Regional Honors Council Conference or the National Collegiate Honors Council Conference where they can meet honors students from across the country.

“This exciting transfer path for Honors Program students ensures that they will continue to be academically challenged as they leave Greenville Technical College and complete a bachelor’s degree at Limestone University,” said Penny Wilcox, director of the GTC Honors Program and a member of the English faculty. “Both institutions offer a strong community of scholars and opportunities beyond the classroom to grow and conduct research, making this option an excellent choice for highly motivated students.”
