Sisters of Charity Foundation awards $720,500 in grant funding

The Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina awarded 95 grants totaling $720,500 to South Carolina nonprofit organizations. Each organization is working to better the lives of those experiencing poverty in South Carolina.
Since 1996, the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina has awarded over 3,200 grants to South Carolina nonprofits totaling nearly $81 million.
“Each of our grantee partners is working towards one common goal: reducing poverty in South Carolina, ” said President Tom Keith. “We’re blessed to provide these organizations with the funding needed to make a positive impact in our state.”
The latest round of grants was awarded to nonprofits that are working to reduce poverty in South Carolina in one of three ways:
- Meeting the immediate needs of people experiencing poverty
- Breaking the cycle of poverty
- Working to change the systems that are considered to be drivers of poverty
