Cocktails! Conversation! Comedy! The Savannah Sipping Society plays November 5-14 at the Spartanburg Little Theatre
November 8, 2021Spartanburg Little Theatre continues to celebrate its 75th anniversary season with the delightful Southern comedy The Savannah Sipping Society. Performances are November 5, 6, 12, and 13 at 8 pm, and November 7 and 14 at 3 pm, at the Chapman Cultural Center in Spartanburg’s Downtown Cultural District.
In this hilarious and heartwarming comedy, four unique Southern women, all needing to escape the sameness of their day-to-day routines, are drawn together by fate—and an impromptu happy hour—and decide it’s high time to reclaim the enthusiasm for life they’ve lost through the years.
The Savannah Sipping Society features SLT alums Lori Bell Guthrie as Jinx, Susie Kocher as Dot, Kellie Eubanks Pifer as Randa, and Nancy Wilkins as Marlafaye, and is directed by Connor Vetter.
“So many people are just now reconnecting with good friends, old and new, after the past year and a half of semi-isolation.” says Executive Artistic Director Jay Coffman. “This show is the perfect reminder of how important those friendships are and how fun and exciting life can be with the right people by your side.”
Tickets for The Savannah Sipping Society can be purchased at the Chapman Cultural Center box office, by calling (864) 542-2787, or online at www.spartanburglittletheatre.com. Tickets are $25 for adults, $24 for seniors and $20 for students and youth (ages 0+). Running time is approximately 2 hours.
“Get your friends together and join these strong Southern women on Randa’s Savannah verandah,” says Coffman. “For anyone who loves Steel Magnolias or Designing Women, this is the perfect date night or girl’s night out at the theatre.”
Spartanburg Little Theatre’s 2021-2022 season is graciously sponsored by Vic Bailey Subaru and Spartanburg Family Dentistry.
In accordance with Chapman Cultural Center’s current COVID 19 safety policies, all audience members, staff and volunteers must wear face masks as they enter the building and throughout the performance. The Chapman Cultural Center has made upgrades to their HVAC system to increase filtration and allow increased air introduction into the theatre, and additional restrooms will be available in the adjacent buildings at intermission.
