Urban Land Institute South Carolina to hold Carolinas Meeting in Columbia

ULI South Carolina announced that the 2022 Carolinas Meeting will be held in Columbia, South Carolina, February 24 – 25 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. Co-hosted by ULI Charlotte, ULI South Carolina and ULI Triangle, the annual Carolinas Meeting, which typically brings together over 700 real estate development professionals including developers, civic leaders, architects and urban planners and financial institutions from all over the Carolinas.
With revitalization efforts and new development taking shape throughout the Midlands area, Columbia is a most appropriate venue for this year’s theme – Return of the Roaring 20’s. Panel discussions and sessions will focus on building on the shared strength of our regional economy, the 15-minute city concept, particularly as it relates to building equitable and resilient communities, innovation districts, education as an economic and development engine, and sustaining success and collaborating across disciplines to meet the challenges and opportunities of community building in today’s world.
A host committee, comprised of real estate professionals from the greater Columbia area, have collaborated to present some of the area’s most unique projects via mobile tours.
The meeting will begin at 3:00pm on Thursday, February 24, with a “Welcome to Columbia” by newly elected Mayor Daniel Rickenmann. The meeting will adjourn on Friday, February 25 with the popular “Crane Watch” session, which highlights six unique projects under construction across the Carolinas.
