The Coldwell Banker Realty Midtown Office joins The Salvation Army of the Midlands’ mission to target the epidemic of hunger amongst families in the Midlands after donating $7,900.00 to The Salvation Army. “Coldwell Banker Realty Midtown Office continues to be a leader in helping the Midlands community,” said Major Craddock, Area Commander for The Salvation Army of the Midlands. “Their generosity towards The Salvation Army helps to address food insecurity and housing stability for families in the Midlands.”

In Richland County, there are more than 65,000 residents that are food insecure due to lack of income, access, and availability to nutritious food, according to a recent report by the City of Columbia Food Policy Committee. Food insecurity is a social and economic condition where access to food is limited or uncertain. Food insecurity is a complex problem and does not exist in isolation for low-income families.

“The Realtors, Lisa Conley, Broker-in-Charge, and Whit Moore, long-standing Salvation Army Advisory Board member, all part of the Coldwell Banker Realty Midtown Team, stepped up to support The Salvation Army! We are extremely proud of the hours, food, gifts and monetary donations that were given, said Mary B. Sesler, Salvation Army Advisory Board Chair and Broker/Realtor at Coldwell Banker Realty Midtown Office. “They participated by ringing the bell, counting the kettles, donating food to re-stock the food pantry, bought Christmas gifts for the children, and last, but not least, donated $7,900.00 to help kick off 2022! Our Realtors’ generosity and big hearts are one of a kind!”

In Fiscal Year 2021, The Salvation Army of the Midlands Meal Service to the Homeless and Hungry Program served 215,040 hot nutritious meals to the homeless and food insecure in the Midlands. The Salvation Army sustains a Food Pantry in our Social Services office for the purpose of providing emergency food to both housed and homeless people.
