The Art of Being: Woman exhibit arrives at Richland Library

18 Artists to Display Their Work in The Gallery through April 15
Columbia, SC – Richland Library welcomes The Art of Being: Woman to our Main location (1431 Assembly Street) starting February 25.
The exhibition amplifies and examines the glorious and distressing parts of being a woman. Featuring meaningful works by 18 local artists and poets, it celebrates the love, struggle, pain, hope and art of being a woman.
Bringing to the table eclectic lived experiences, these artists remind us of the challenges women face when it comes to equality, empowerment, family, gender roles and self-expression through art.
This unique gallery encompasses a variety of mediums from oil and acrylic paintings, to ceramic sculpture, creative dance, storytelling and poetry. Richland Library customers may recognize works from Allison Moore, Tammaka Staley, Ara-Viktoria McKinney Bookman and Martha Brim, four former Artists-in-Residence who will be featured among the 18 contributors.
The Art of Being: Woman runs through Friday, April 15.
