Charleston Digital Corridor awards first pre-seed grant
March 8, 2022International Women’s Day, celebrated on March 8th , aims to celebrate women’s achievement, raise awareness against bias, and take action for equality. To commemorate, the Charleston Digital Corridor (CDC) is pleased to announce the second participant of the Diversity Initiative and recipient of a $10,000 pre-seed grant.
BagValet, Charleston’s original mobile luggage storage solution, located at the Flagship @ the Charleston Tech Center, was founded in late 2019 by Amanda Sheridan. BagValet aims to provide Charleston visitors with a faster and more convenient experience when arriving in or departing from the Holy City.
With plans to scale the business, Amanda and her team hope this $10,000 grant will help push them to the next level and get more attention than in years past. “The CDC has been a major catalyst in our growth over the last year. Having access to a centralized work location to host meetings has proven to help our team work more cohesively,” said Sheridan. She continued, “I’ve been introduced to so many great minds who have stepped up as educators/mentors along the journey and I feel comfort in knowing that I can turn to the CDC community for any of my needs and be respected as a woman in tech.”
Rather than lugging your suitcase around town all day while exploring, BagValet will pick up your luggage from the airport and drop it off at your lodging accommodation or designated pick-up/drop-off location at the time of your choosing.
