Clinton High Senior Signs as Walk on with Clemson

Peyton Pitts is headed where he always wanted to be.
The high school senior signed this past Thursday as a “preferred walk on” with Clemson Football. Pitts received scholarship offers from a variety of NCAA Division II schools – Virginia Military, Limestone, Lenoir-Rhyne and others – but is joining the Tigers as a “preferred walk-on.” That means Clemson coaches see promise in him but don’t have a scholarship to spare. The difference between a “preferred” walk-on and others is that he doesn’t have to try out in order to join the football program.
Regardless of your allegiance to Carolina, Clemson or any other team, you’re sure to agree that the opportunity to walk on with Clemson is a big deal.
