Bon Secours Wellness Arena unveils ice rink and announces skating events and special programming
October 4, 2022Bon Secours Wellness Arena, an award-winning state-of-the-art sports and entertainment venue located in downtown Greenville, has lifted the curtain on its iconic ice rink for a new and exciting season of skating events and special programming. Rink season at The Well will officially commence on Saturday, October 22 when the Greenville Swamp Rabbit’s take on the Savannah Ghost Pirates.
“The energy surrounding a new ice rink season is palpable and we are delighted to welcome back audiences to enjoy ice shows, hockey, and more as The Well will play host to some of the Upstate’s most anticipated events and unique programming this fall and winter,” says Beth Paul, general manager of Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
Bon Secours Wellness Arena is home to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, a professional hockey team whose 2022-23 season presented by Bon Secours kicks off on Saturday, October 22. Familiar favorite nights make their return for another season highlighted by the Teddy Bear Toss presented by Swamp Rabbit Moving on December 10, Military Appreciation Night presented by Budweiser on January 14, and Stick It To Cancer Night presented by Bon Secours and Plumbing In Pink on February 17. In addition to the classic promotional nights, the Swamp Rabbits have added new game themes including 864 Night, Decade Days, and Wonder Woman in Sports Night. From November 23– November 27 the ice rink at Bon Secours Wellness Arena will also be home to Disney on Ice Let’s Celebrate! This monumental ice-skating spectacular promises to mesmerize audiences with an epic Disney production that features an international team of award-winning figure skaters, high-energy choreography, and a breathtaking set that opens with a salute to Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse as the original hosts of Disney On Ice. With over 30 melodious masterpieces such as “Let It Go!,” “You’ve Got A Friend in Me,” and “Hakuna Matata,” Disney On Ice Let’s Celebrate! is the ultimate Disney fan experience. Additionally, The Well will host several events that invite the community to lace up their own skates and hit the big ice. Put on by STAGE (Serving Together: Arena’s Giving Experience), the moniker for Bon Secours Wellness Arena’s community engagement initiatives, this will include Skate on the Big Ice presented by Duke Energy, monthly sled hockey events, and Skate, Stroll and Roll.
