Large Crowds Attend Sawmill Tactical Training Complex First All-American Machine Gun Shoot Event
October 19, 2022After nearly half a century of the All-American Machine Gun Shoot (MGS) being held in Knob Creek, Kentucky the first annual shoot was held here in Laurens this past weekend.
The All-American MGS is a historical event that took place twice a year in Kentucky. People from all over the nation would come to view the historical exhibits and attend the gun show. On display and in action were weapons from World War I World War II Vietnam Korea and many civilian models from days past.
And it was no different here in Laurens County at the Sawmill Tactical Training Center on Neely Ferry Road.
The new local event included competitions, training, and a chance to try out some of the newest gear from companies like Glock, Barrett, Rugged Suppressors, LMT, and many more.
Based on attendance the event was a huge success. There were 450 vendors and individual historical gun owners. Over the two-day event nearly 1500 spectators and visitors attended.
“We are so appreciative of the community for the patience and understanding as we worked out a few kinks in the first ever All-American Gun Shoot in Laurens County,” said owner Steve Brown. “We hope to bring many more events to Laurens County over the next few years. Our intent is to grow the opportunities we offer but only the right people, and the right spirit for what will be a positive experience.”
