Statement from Laurens County District 56 – January 28, 2023
It is with a heavy heart that Clinton High School reports that one of our high school seniors, Taylor Cole Tisdale, has died from injuries sustained in a car accident. Superintendent David O’Shields said, “ The Laurens District 56 family is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of one of our high school seniors. There are no words that can express to the family how sorry we are, but we send our most sincere condolences. We will do everything we can to assist the family in their time of need.” Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, school, and district community. Taylor was a member of the 2022 Clinton Red Devil football team. Coach Corey Fountain said, “Words fall short while trying to express my emotions for the sudden loss of Taylor Tisdale. His smile and positive attitude often impacted his teammates and will be greatly missed. As a player on our football team, he is and always will be a part of our family. I pray for peace and healing for the Tisdale family, friends, and his Red Devil family.” Dr. Martha Brothers, principal of Clinton High School, stated, “Taylor will be greatly missed. His smile lit up every room he entered.” Special counseling services have been arranged for both students and teachers on Monday and will continue to be available all week. Laurens District 56 asks that you keep Taylor’s family and Clinton High School in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.
