Today, Liberty Senior Living, a family-owned company that has been helping people manage their healthcare and residential needs in the Carolinas for almost 150 years, announced Paige Canaday Crone as director of marketing and sales for their new project, The Peninsula of Charleston. The Peninsula of Charleston, a proposed luxury independent living residence featuring upscale amenities, concierge services and a full complement of healthcare, is co-owned and operated Liberty Senior Living and Evening Post Industries, and is expected to break ground in 2024 with completion anticipated for 2026.
With more than 30 years of public relations, television production, marketing and event planning experience, Crone will be responsible for leading The Peninsula of Charleston’s dedicated sales team, which represents all real estate interests for the project.
Prior to working with The Peninsula of Charleston, Crone served the American Cancer Society as the Southeast region’s director of communications and as community development director. Formerly, Crone held a position as the public relations and community events director at The Art Institute of Charleston, and prior to that she served in the same capacity at Johnson & Wales University. Crone has additionally served on the Board of Directors for the Charleston Wine + Food Festival, was a James Beard Award judge for several years during the Broadcast Media Awards and is a former board member and past president of Les Dames d’Escoffier.
Prior to her position at Johnson & Wales University, Crone worked at The Travel Channel and in various television markets, including Washington, D.C., Raleigh, N.C., and Charleston, S.C. During her time as a senior writer producer and promotion manager in these markets, she received numerous Emmy Awards, Addy Awards, New York Film Festival Awards and the Vision Award, an international award from SONY. In 2016, Crone and business partner Wendy Thrower launched a lifestyle brand, “Charleston Protocol,” that celebrates and shares Holy City traditions, stories and food culture through the perspective of natives. In her free time, Crone enjoys spending time with her husband, Steve, and sons, Wilson and Christian, and her dog, Boca.
“Paige’s depth of experience in public relations, marketing and event planning, especially related to customer service, makes her the perfect candidate to lead The Peninsula of Charleston’s marketing and sales,” says Dean Dellaria, director of marketing and sales at Liberty Senior Living. “As a native Charlestonian who is steeped in the city’s lifestyle and culture, we are confident her perspective and insight will set the foundation and will help to carry out our vision for The Peninsula of Charleston and its residents.”
Located on the terminus of King and Columbus streets in the Courier Square District, The Peninsula of Charleston will be the only life plan community in downtown Charleston and has a minimum age requirement of 62. The project features more than 140 residences ranging from 700-3,500 square feet, which includes maintenance for worry-free travel, allowing owners to focus on the people and passions that enrich their lives. Because it is an equity model, owners have the flexibility to sell their residences and ownership can be transferred to loved ones, making the Peninsula of Charleston a legacy investment.
Liberty Senior Living will oversee residential sales from The Peninsula of Charleston gallery, which will soon open at 573 King Street. Families will be able to begin reserving their new homes in the second quarter of 2023. For inquiries, visit https://www.thepeninsulaofcharleston.com/.
