Four Way Stop Coming to Intersection in Clinton

The intersection at West Main Street and Laurens Street in Clinton will be a 4-way stop intersection effective March 1. This is the intersection at the Cotton Loft.
At a 4-way stop, the first car to arrive at the intersection receives the right of way. It doesn’t matter where the vehicle is located or what direction it is traveling, this rule will always apply when someone has clearly arrived at the stop sign first. If two or more cars pull up to a four-way stop at the same, the car that is farthest to the right should go first.
Be safe and aware of this new traffic pattern.
