SMITH | ROBINSON welcomes new member, Tina Cundari
March 1, 2023SMITH | ROBINSON announced Tina Cundari has joined the firm as a member. Cundari has nearly twenty years of experience in litigation and will focus her practice on commercial litigation, professional liability and ethics, appellate practice, False Claims Act litigation, and white collar defense.
Cundari joins the firm after having served as an Assistant United States Attorney and Chief of the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in South Carolina. Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Cundari spent thirteen years in private practice and two years as a law clerk to the Honorable Jean Hoefer Toal, former Chief Justice of the South Carolina Supreme Court.
Cundari brings a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience to SMITH | ROBINSON. She has tried cases in state and federal courts and in the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) forum. Cundari has argued cases before the South Carolina Court of Appeals, the South Carolina Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Cundari has been recognized in “Best Lawyers in America” and “South Carolina Super Lawyers” for her work in commercial litigation and appellate practice. She was named Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year by the South Carolina Bar and received the “Leadership in the Law” award from S.C. Lawyers Weekly. Additionally, the Columbia Regional Business Report named Cundari a “Women to Watch” honoree and The State Newspaper selected her for the “20 Under 40” award.
Cundari has served as Chair of the S.C. Bar Trial and Appellate Advocacy Section, President of the John Belton O’Neall Inn of Court, and Co-Chair of the Richland County Bar Association Wellness Committee. She currently teaches an advanced legal writing class at the University of South Carolina School of Law and serves as a member of the College of Charleston Foundation Board.
Cundari received her undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston and her law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
