Building Industry Association of Central SC announces new CEO
March 17, 2023The Board of Directors of the Building Industry Association of Central SC (BIA) announces that they have hired Bin Wilcenski as the new Chief Executive Officer of the association.
Mr. Wilcenski began his career at the association in 1999 as Director of Membership Services and staff liaison to the Remodelers Council. As his role grew over the years he took on more responsibilities and was named Chief Operations Officer. He was named Interim CEO in August of 2022 and hired as CEO in March 2023.
Mr. Wilcenski is from West Columbia, SC. He graduated from Brookland-Cayce High School and went on to graduate from the University of South Carolina in 1999 with a BA in Journalism focusing on Public Relations and the SC Honors College. He now lives in Irmo, SC with his wife Laura and their two daughters, Zeta and Lucy. Their home is Certified High Performance and Certified Universal Living, two above-code certifications offered through the BIA of Central SC.
“It is a great honor to fill the position of Chief Executive Officer of this association,” said Mr. Wilcenski. “I’m excited to use my years of experience and relationships coupled with the strength and knowledge of our membership to keep housing and the business of building a top priority.”
Mr. Wilcenski will oversee the day to day operations of the association and work with the Board of Directors and members to further the mission of the association – To Promote and Protect the Construction and Housing Industry in Central South Carolina.

The Building Industry Association of Central South Carolina (BIA), formerly the Home Builders Association of Greater Columbia, is a non-profit professional trade association founded in 1957 for the purpose of maintaining high professional standards in the residential construction industry. Based in Columbia, SC, it is comprised of over 650 builder and associate firms representing over 7,500 industry professionals involved in home building, remodeling, multifamily construction, property management, subcontracting, design, housing finance, building product manufacturing and other aspects of residential and light commercial construction.
