Hood Construction announces new additions to Pre-Construction team

Hood Construction announced two new additions to its Pre-Construction team: Dwight Williams and Doug Long. Lead by Hood veteran of 26 years John Wallace – who has since been named Senior Pre-Construction Manager – and Hood’s Vice President of Construction Management, Dean Wilson, this department works collaboratively with Hood’s Project Management staff during the critical early project phases.

Dwight Williams joins Hood Construction after owning and operating his own high-end residential construction company for 24 years and working extensively in the residential and light commercial industry for several years prior. Before to opening his own firm, Dwight held the position of Vice President with Bagnal Builders. He brings his vast experience working with numerous architects, interior designers, and owners — all of which had the highest expectations of quality — and his familiarity with an array of building systems, vendors, and common challenges to the table while working closely with Hood’s Project Managers to provide current budgets and value analysis to owners.

Doug Long first came to Hood as an intern in 2018, before coming on board full-time in late 2022. He is also an active member of the SC Army National Guard as an Apache pilot and has served one deployment for the SC Army National Guard under Operation Spartan Shield. At Hood, Doug has worked on several job sites across many sectors and has also assisted in in-office roles helping with documentation, budgeting, reporting, and communications in tandem with Project Management staff. He possesses a myriad of skills cultivated through his vast military, higher educational, and “boots on the ground” experience at Hood, and uses that experience daily in his role as Pre-Construction Manager.
