Grand Opening of Renovated Sanctified Hill Park in Fountain Inn This Friday

The City of Fountain Inn will be holding a Grand Opening Celebration for the newly renovated Sanctified Hill Park. 

The City of Fountain Inn completely renovated the historic park on Putman St. The renovations at the park include new playground equipment, a new basketball court with bleachers, and a new picnic shelter. New signage, an ADA accessible walkway, landscaping, fencing, a new parking lot, and new restrooms were also installed as a part of this project. 

“The renovation of Sanctified Hill Park is one of the most rewarding projects I’ve ever been a part of in my career. This underserviced City-owned facility has now been transformed into a source of civic and neighborhood pride” said Shawn Bell, Fountain Inn City Administrator, when asked about the impact of the project. 

The grand opening celebration will be held at Sanctified Hill Park at 437 Putman St. in Fountain Inn on Friday, May 5th from 4 to 6 pm. Mayor George Patrick “GP” Mcleer will deliver a special presentation at 5 pm. 

“With this renovation, Sanctified Hill Park has been transformed from a commonly overlooked neighborhood park, into one of our finest family parks,” said Fountain Inn Mayor GP McLeer. “I want to thank our community members who helped shape the vision of this transformation, our Council members for agreeing to make this park a priority, and our state leaders for their support.”

The improvements to Sanctified Hill Park follow the renovation of Woodside Park, now Emanuel Sullivan Sports Complex which was completed in 2020. The city has its sights on further park updates.
