Alex Whitten joins Daniel Whitten Inspections as Home Inspector

Alex Whitten has joined Daniel Whitten Inspections as a home inspector. Daniel Whitten Inspections offers full home and commercial inspections throughout the Upstate of South Carolina, plus additional inspection services including reinspections, first phase/pre-insulation inspections, limited-area inspections, builder’s letters, and CL-100 letters (wood infestation reports). Alex Whitten, who graduated from Anderson College with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science, worked for more than three years with a local landscape and construction company where he helped build decks, arbors, and retaining walls, installed patios, walkways, and driveways, installed and maintained sprinkler systems, and renovated exterior landscapes.

“It is a privilege to be able to provide mentorship and hands-on instruction and experience in the field for somebody entering the inspection industry,” said Daniel Whitten, founder and owner of Daniel Whitten Inspections. “I was very blessed to receive on-the-job training with the best inspectors in the business many years ago, and to be able to pass that apprenticeship opportunity on to my son is beyond anything I could have hoped for when I first entered the inspection industry more than twenty-five years ago. Alex already has so much experience in serving homeowners through his past work, but more importantly he has relational skills and a service orientation that I lacked at his age. He is already a tremendous asset to the business.”

Whitten will participate in an apprenticeship process that includes co-inspections with his mentor of up to one hundred homes, then a progression to dual parallel inspections of houses and a comparison and evaluation on inspection reports. In the latter part of the apprenticeship process houses will undergo separate dual inspections with both inspectors.

Alex Whitten has served as a volunteer for more than a decade with the South Carolina Search and Rescue Dog Association, a non-profit that aids emergency management and law enforcement agencies in the search for missing persons using highly-trained search dogs. He also serves on the leadership team of the BackYard Bible Club (BYBC), which helps plan activities for children in challenging circumstances in Anderson, South Carolina.
