Laurens County Sheriff’s Office Holds Successful Back to School Bash, Equipping Students for a Bright School Year

July 24, 2023

As the summer break comes to a close, students in Laurens County were welcomed back to school with smiles and backpacks full of school supplies, thanks to the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office.

After a generous school supply drive earlier in the month, the LCSO went shopping so they could equip as many students as possible.

LCSO held their annual Back to School Bash on Saturday and in record time handed out supplies to parents and children.

All filled bookbags were handed out by 9:35 and all other supplies were gone by 10:05. That means over 200 children will be starting their year off right!

“The Back to School Bash is not just about distributing backpacks and supplies; it’s a symbol of our commitment to the children of Laurens County,” said Deputy Courtney Snow, LCSO Public Information Officer. “By supporting their education, we are investing in a brighter future for our community.”

Children and parents enjoyed the event that included a bounce house, miniature horses, a Michelin car on display and first responder vehicles, and a BBQ lunch. The BBQ was cooked by members of American Legion Post 25 and the pig was donated by Mike Curlee.
