SCDOT continues work on I-85 business through the end of the year

October 26, 2023

The South Carolina Department of Transportation will continue work on I-85 business through the end of the year. SCDOT is adding some additional paving and guardrail work to the project and extending the amount of time the contractor has to complete those additional project items through the end of 2023. While the additional work does add construction time to the project, the end result will be a better, safer roadway.

This project started in 2021 and includes the replacement of three bridges along the corridor in addition to pavement and safety improvements. Drivers in the area should slow down and stay alert for crews working alongside the roadway. Community members are encouraged to stay tuned to the SCDOT website and social media feeds for updates about the project, including reopening details.
