Slightly North of Broad celebrates 30 years of success

November 13, 2023

Hall Management Group is delighted to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its iconic Charleston restaurant Slightly North of Broad, widely known as SNOB. The 30-year milestone is a testament to the restaurant’s cherished food and hospitality amidst Charleston’s competitive culinary scene. To mark the anniversary, SNOB will open the vault and feature some of its most celebrated dishes alongside current favorites during the week of December 4-10.

Founded in December 1993 by restaurateurs Dick Elliott, Chef Frank Lee, and David Marconi, SNOB was at the forefront of the farm-to-table movement when it opened its doors. In 2015, The Hall Family acquired SNOB, adding the remarkable establishment to its restaurant portfolio, which now includes eight other properties across South Carolina and Tennessee.

Since its inception, SNOB has served as a launch pad for celebrated chefs now spanning the United States, including its own Executive Chef Russ Moore (“Chef Russ”) who took over the helm in 2014.

“SNOB has always been known as an establishment that challenges traditional culinary norms and it’s been an honor to uphold those values while also bringing forth a fresh vision,” said Chef Russ. “We are ecstatic to celebrate three decades of culinary excellence, strong relationships with local farms and purveyors, and our guest’s most cherished dishes to mark this major milestone.”

Today, SNOB remains one of the top-rated restaurants in Charleston and continues to draw a loyal following, including a devoted lunch crowd of local regulars. With a unique fusion of French flair and Southern-style offerings, SNOB’s menu continues to evolve while staying true to the restaurant’s roots. An East Bay fixture for decades, the restaurant underwent an extensive renovation last year, reopening with a new look reflecting SNOB’s eclectic take on Charleston classics.

“We are blessed to steward this iconic Charleston venue with its vibrant dining experience guests have come to love,” said Tommy Hall, Proprietor and CEO of Hall Management Group. “30 years is an impressive accomplishment for any restaurant and this milestone would not be possible without the tireless dedication of our SNOB team, unwavering support from our guests, and the passion for exceptional food Chef Russ and his kitchen crew bring to the table every single day.”
