Applications for 4K Child Development in Richland Two will be available in February

Parents seeking to enroll their children in the Richland School District Two Center for Child Development should start preparing now. Applications for the Center for Child Development will be available beginning February 1, 2024. Space will be limited and parents who are interested in applying should start familiarizing themselves with the application process as soon as possible.

Richland Two offers free 4K Child Development classes to students who qualify based on developmental readiness, Pupils in Poverty status, or other risk factors. Students must turn four years old on or before September 1, 2024, to be eligible to start the program in August of the same year. Students must reside in Richland Two with their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) to be eligible for enrollment. Only legal parent(s)/guardian(s) listed on an original birth certificate or who have educational rights can register a child or complete the application process.

4K Child Development is a state and federally funded program in Richland Two. Enrollment capacity is limited. Available spots will be offered first to applicants demonstrating the highest need. Acceptance into the program is not guaranteed. To be considered for enrollment, applications must be submitted between February 1, 2024, and March 31, 2024.

The main office of the Center for Child Development is located at the Anna Boyd School, 7900 Brookmont Lane, Columbia 29203. Richland Two has 32 child development classes located in 19 elementary schools in the district. Transportation is ultimately the responsibility of the parent/legal guardian. Richland Two may provide bus transportation to a child’s zoned school if there are available spaces on the bus.
