Richland One to hold five free housing clinics through May
January 3, 2024Richland One families who are financially struggling and/or facing problems with their homes can receive free assistance.
In partnership with the Columbia Branch of the NAACP, the district will hold five free housing clinics from January through May. Families can get guidance on habitability issues such as mold and broken fixtures, illegal evictions, utility assistance, public benefits and more.
A special housing clinic that will start with an information session on evictions and what tenants’ rights are will take place March 9 at Eau Claire High School (4800 Monticello Road, Columbia, SC 29203). The information session will be held from 9 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
To participate in the clinics, you must have at least one child attending a Richland One school.
The free housing clinics will be held on the following dates and times:
- Tuesday, January 16 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at Lower Richland High School (2615 Lower Richland Boulevard, Hopkins, SC 29061)
- Monday, February 26 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at South Kilbourne Elementary School (1400 South Kilbourne Road, Columbia, SC 29205)
- Saturday, March 9 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at Eau Claire High School (4800 Monticello Road, Columbia, SC 29203)
- Tuesday, April 23 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at C.A. Johnson High School (2219 Barhamville Road, Columbia, SC 29204)
- Monday, May 6 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at Hopkins Middle School (1601 Clarkson Road, Hopkins, SC 29061)
