Richland Library celebrates Black History Month

Observe African American History and Culture throughout February
As Black History Month nears, Richland Library wants to highlight the achievements of African Americans across all mediums – including politics, education and the arts.
Throughout the month of February, the library is recognizing the richness of African American culture. Our staff is inviting local residents to experience programs, ranging from author events and musical performances to movie screenings.
There are more than a dozen programs available, which are free and open to the public, and they’re taking place across our library system.

Karen Strickland of the Walker Local and Family History Center will discuss the techniques she used to trace an ancestor that was formerly enslaved. Registration is required.
