Exploring Cherokee Heritage: Laurens County 4th Graders’ Field Trips to Warrior Creek Tribal Grounds

An exciting educational initiative is underway in Laurens County. The Laurens County Museum has partnered with the Lower Eastern Cherokee Nation SC and the SC Arts Commission to offer a unique opportunity for 4th graders to embark on enlightening field trips to The Warrior Creek Tribal Grounds in Gray Court. This immersive experience is scheduled for two dates: March 6 and March 20.

The collaboration aims to provide local students with an engaging day of learning, fostering a deeper understanding of the rich history and heritage of the Cherokee people.

The field trips promise to be more than just a day away from the classroom. Students will have the chance to delve into the history, traditions, and customs of the Cherokee people, gaining a firsthand appreciation for the vibrant heritage that has shaped the region.
