Dr. Larry Miller of Greenville Technical College named to Complete College America’s Council on Equitable AI

Dr. Larry Miller, vice president of learning and workforce development at Greenville Technical College, has been invited to join the Complete College America Council on Equitable Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Miller joins representatives from institutions across the country whose students have historically been excluded from the opportunities afforded by access to AI resources. The council, launched this year, is aimed at providing equitable access to AI tools so that the technology fosters inclusivity rather than privilege.

“It is going to take a knowledgeable and skilled workforce to realize AI’s promised productivity gains,” said Miller. “Greenville Technical College is proud to take a leading role with incorporating AI-enhanced equipment into the design of our new world class welding facility and will do the same with AI powered robotics.”

Greenville Technical College was invited to be part of Complete College America in 2023. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation-funded effort is helping higher education institutions achieve more equitable student outcomes by understanding the unique needs of every student and building clear, supportive pathways to graduation.

Dr. Larry Miller has served as vice president for learning and workforce development at Greenville Technical College since 2021, leading the college’s five academic schools as well as the Corporate and Continuing Education division.

Miller earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in business administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He began his career as a management consultant with Arthur Anderson and later entered the field of higher education as a research associate at the University of Washington’s Center on Reinventing Public Education. Next, he earned a Ph.D. in public administration from Syracuse University. He then began work as an assistant professor in the School of Public Affairs and Administration at Rutgers University and later became dean of the School of Education at Florida SouthWestern State College.
