Fountain Inn 18th Annual Mac Arnold Cornbread & Collard Greens Blues Festival: A Celebration of Southern Culture, Blues Music, and Family Fun
March 31, 2024Prepare for a great day as the Fountain Inn 18th Annual Mac Arnold Cornbread & Collard Greens Blues Festival returns, promising a fusion of soulful tunes, delectable Southern cuisine, and vibrant local artistry. Join us on April 13th, 2024, as Main St. Downtown transforms into a vibrant celebration zone from noon to 6 p.m. for this free event.
A popular part of the festivities, don’t miss the Jeep Jam down Main Street, where over 200 Jeeps will line up for display, showcasing the rugged beauty of these iconic vehicles. And for those with a competitive spirit, Bobby’s BBQ will be sponsoring a rib-eating contest that promises a delicious indulgence for participants and spectators alike.
Of course, the festival wouldn’t be complete without the mesmerizing performances by Mac Arnold and the Plate Full of Blues, alongside other renowned blues artists. Let the rhythms of Nick Moss’s authentic Chicago-style blues and Jontavious Willis’s soul-stirring vocals envelop you in a musical experience like no other.
“We love having Mac back every year! Mac is not only a great musician, but he’s a great person and uses this annual festival as a way to raise money for music education and raise awareness for many other local bands and vendors,” said Fountain Inn Mayor GP McLeer.
But beyond the music and culinary delights, there’s something for everyone at the festival. Families can enjoy an area dedicated just for kids.
Indulge your taste buds in an array of collard greens, cornbread, and other Southern fare, each dish prepared with its own unique twist, reflecting the rich culinary heritage of the region. And while you’re here, don’t forget to explore the Spring Market on Depot Street, featuring an eclectic mix of homemade goods, artisanal crafts, bath products, baked treats, and much more. It’s a fantastic opportunity to support local artisans and bring home some one-of-a-kind treasures.
This celebration of Southern culture and blues music wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of sponsors such as the City of Fountain Inn, Palmetto Moonshine Distillery, Leopard Forest Coffee Co., SueEllen Sineath, and Sam Moore, whose contributions help make this event a reality.
