Elevate 2024 boasts Fine Arts Center student performances, 2025 50th Celebration Hall of Fame inductions

The Fine Arts Center performed its annual student showcase, Elevate, on Friday, April 12th to a sold-out crowd at the Peace Center in the Gunter Theatre. This celebration was a testament to the Fine Arts Center students’ hard work and creativity nurtured by the Fine Arts Center teaching artists and staff. Vee Popat, Fine Arts Center Director, also announced next year’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, where notable alumni will be inducted into the Fine Arts Center Hall of Fame.
The evening featured performances from many Fine Arts Center program areas: percussion, dance, creative writing and theatre, winds chamber music, strings chamber music, digital filmmaking, voice, and jazz studies. Prior to the performance, guests also had the opportunity to admire work from visual arts and architecture students displayed in the lobby.
In his announcement of the 50th Anniversary Celebration to be held in April of 2025, Vee shared names of alumni who will be inducted into the Fine Arts Center Hall of Fame, including: Marcus King (grammy nominated artist), Rory Scovel (comedian, writer and actor), and Kelly Hall-Tompkins (professional violinist). Each well-known and celebrated in their respective fields, these alumni will share exclusive performances at the anniversary celebration, which will be held at the Peace Center.
