Republican Candidates to Address Voters at Laurens County Candidate Forum

In a bid to inform voters ahead of the primary election on June 11, the Laurens County Republican Party (LCGOP) is organizing a crucial event—a candidate forum scheduled for Thursday, May 23rd, from 6pm to 8pm at The Ridge at Laurens (319 Exchange Road, Laurens).

This collaborative effort between the LCGOP and Lakeland Young Republicans will gather all Republican candidates vying for office in Laurens County, providing an invaluable opportunity for residents to engage with the candidates and gain insights into their platforms.

The significance of this event lies in its role in shaping informed voting decisions. With local positions like sheriff, coroner, and county council seats up for grabs, voters must understand the stances of these candidates on key issues affecting the community.

Luke Rankin, Chair of the Laurens County Republican Party, emphasized the importance of voters attending the forum, stating, “This forum is a vital step in ensuring that voters are well-informed about the candidates and their positions. It’s critical that our community makes educated decisions at the ballot box.”

Among the candidates expected to attend are Don Reynolds and Chris Wilkes, both running for Laurens County Sheriff, and Patti Canupp and Bill Sea Wright, candidates for Laurens County Coroner. Additionally, candidates for various County Council districts, including David Tribble and Justin Lane (District 7), Britton Wolf (District 3), Matthew Brownlee, and Dale Stetz (District 2), will be present.

The forum will provide a structured platform for each candidate to present their vision for the county and answer questions from the moderator.
