As the summer approaches, Laurens County School District 55 (LCSD55) is excited to announce a variety of enriching summer programs designed to keep students engaged and academically prepared for the upcoming school year. These programs cater to a range of grades and interests, ensuring every student has an opportunity to grow and learn during the summer months.
Summer PE
- Who: Rising 9th graders
- Where: Laurens District High School (LDHS) and other sites
- When: June 4-7, 10-13, 17-18, 20-21, and 24-27
- Time: 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Summer Reading Camp
- Who: Third grade students who meet the criteria
- Where: EB Morse and Hickory Tavern Schools
- When: June 4-7, 10-13, 17-18, 20-21, and 24-27
- Time: 7:50 AM – 2:50 PM
CERDEP Summer School
- Who: Rising 4K and rising 5K students (by invitation)
- What: Helps students acclimate to the school setting
- Where: All elementary schools
- When: June 4-7, 10-13, 17-18, 20-21, and 24-27
- Time: 7:50 AM – 2:50 PM
Summer Reading Camp Extension
- Who: Invited first and second-grade students
- Where: EB Morse & Hickory Tavern Schools
- When: June 4-7, 10-13, 17-18, 20-21, and 24-27
- Time: 7:50 AM – 4:30 PM
- Note: Students will be dismissed from the Laurens YMCA
21st CCLC Program
- Who: Rising 1st and rising 5th-8th graders
- Where: All elementary and middle schools
- When: June 4-7, 10-13, 17-18, 20-21, and 24-27
- Time: 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Fine Arts Camp
- Who: 2nd-5th graders (by invitation only)
- Where: EB Morse Elementary
- When: June 24-27
- Time: 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM
For more information on these programs, parents and guardians are encouraged to contact their child’s school.
Important Dates:
- All district summer schools will be closed on Wednesday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth.
- The schools will also be closed on Thursday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.
- Additionally, the programs will not be in session on the following Fridays: June 14, June 28, July 5, 12, and 19.
These summer programs offer a fantastic opportunity for students to stay academically sharp, engage in physical activities, and explore their creative sides. LCSD55 looks forward to welcoming students to a summer full of learning and fun.
