CIU offering financial aid relief to students with parents in ministry; Several new scholarships announced
June 5, 2024New full-time undergraduate students whose parents are employed in Christian ministry can now have 100% of their tuition covered at Columbia International University.
The new “Parent in Ministry and Missionary Dependent Scholarship” is available for up to four consecutive academic years. The parents must serve in full-time ministry as a paid missionary, pastor, or staff member at a church or para-church organization.
Several other scholarships and new awards have also been introduced for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Full-time students who have taken a gap year after high school to work in ministry, are now eligible for up to $8,000 in scholarships per year. Those gap year ministries include Word of Life Bible Institute, Impact 360, Torchbearer Bible Schools, OM Logos Hope and VOX Bivium.
Meanwhile, home schooled students are now eligible for $5,000 per year for up to four consecutive years and new full-time freshmen referred by CIU alumni are eligible to receive $4,000 per year.
Additionally, for the 2024-2025 academic year, the price of all tuition and fees have been frozen as the administration reviews fee structures and reduces costs for students without compromising the quality of education and services provided.
“We understand the financial challenges that students face and are dedicated to ensuring that cost is not a barrier to their education and God’s call on their life,” said Jen Booth, CIU vice president for Enrollment & Academic Services.
