Richland Library hosts LOOK! Photography Exhibit
June 5, 2024Photo Exhibit Honors Youth Living with a Disability in Partnership with Family Connection of South Carolina
Richland Library welcomes LOOK! Photography Exhibit in partnership with the Family Connection of South Carolina. Visitors to Richland Library Main (1431 Assembly Street, 29201) can take a peek into the lives of children and youth who have a disability or chronic health condition through the art of photography. Each photo includes a scannable code bringing viewers to a story page highlighting the individual in the photograph.
The intent of LOOK! is to highlight the abilities of the person being photographed and to help those viewing the photos to pause, reflect and see disability in a different way. To create the exhibit, professional photographers from across the state volunteered their time to host photo sessions with more than 60 families who have been impacted by childhood disability or chronic illness.
Customers can visit Richland Library Main to view the inspiring and diverse collection of photos of children from around the state from June 2 through Friday, July 12. A glimpse of the collection can be viewed online by visiting www.richlandlibrary.com/art.
Groucho’s Deli is the Presenting Sponsor of LOOK! 2024. Additional sponsorship is provided by ongoing Sponsor, BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina; Wellpoint, McGuire Woods, Molina Healthcare, Bright Start, Little Johnny, Midlands Therapy Service and HealthLinks Magazine.
