June 10, 2024Movies at the Mill launches June 14 in West Courtyard
The revitalized Judson Mill District launches its community event series “Movies at the Mill,” a free outdoor gathering on the second Friday of each month featuring food trucks, popcorn, beverages, outdoor games, and family-friendly movies on a large outdoor screen.
The first Movies at the Mill, hosted by Events at Judson, is scheduled for Friday, June 14, and features “Wonka,” a musical fantasy film that explores the early adventures of Willy Wonka before he became a chocolatier.
Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets. Each event begins at 7 p.m. with the movie starting around 8 p.m.
“We are thrilled to launch ‘Movies at the Mill,’ a free community event series that celebrates our campus while bringing people together in a unique historic setting,” said Ken Reiter, co-developer of Judson Mill District.
Judson Mill District features loft apartments, restaurants, offices and entertainment.
Movies at the Mill transforms the West Courtyard into an outdoor cinema combining the historic charm of Judson Mill into a festive space with room for chairs, blankets, and comfortable seating. Magnetic South’s Judson Mill location will offer a selection of craft beers, with snacks and refreshments from other local food vendors available for purchase.
Reiter said Movies at the Mill is about fostering a sense of community and shared experiences on the campus.
“Judson Mill has always been more than just a workplace; it has been a thriving community of friends, neighbors, and families since its inception in 1912. We invite everyone to join us for an evening of entertainment and connection as we transform our historic space into a vibrant gathering place for all.”

About Judson Mill District
Judson Mill District is a sustainable and vibrant mixed-use community offering soulful city living in Greenville, SC. Once the largest textile mill in Greenville County and an integral part of Greenville’s Mill Crescent wrapping the city’s west side, Judson Mill District is now home to office, restaurant, brewery, retail, entertainment, and residential spaces. In 2019, Taft Family Ventures, a distinguished real estate investment and development firm based in Greenville, NC, joined with Belmont Sayre, a privately held real estate investment and development company based in Chapel Hill, NC, to transform the historic 800,000-square-foot textile mill that closed in 2015. While maintaining its vision to preserve the soul, spirit, and features of the historic mill, Judson Mill District utilizes a sustainable approach in revitalizing its 36-acre campus, which now fosters a vibrant and affordable community where people live, work, and play.
