Ashley Bragg Named Laurens Elementary School Principal in Laurens County School District 55
July 22, 2024Laurens County School District 55 (LCSD 55) named Ashley Bragg as the 2024-2025 Laurens Elementary School (LES) Principal. Ashley is the wife of Kevin Bragg. They have 3 boys: Heath, Logan, and Easton. She is a product of Laurens 55 and a proud Raider through and through. She was born and raised in Laurens and was a member of the State Championship Raider Basketball team which won in 1999 and 2001.
Ashley Bragg previously served as 2023-2024 Sanders Middle School (SMS) Assistant Principal and 2022-2023 Hickory Tavern School (HTS) Assistant Principal. She holds a Master’s in Education from Southern Wesleyan University and an Educational Specialist in Administration and Supervision degree from Clemson University. Bragg graduated Summa Cum Laude from Lander University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.
Bragg first taught in 2006 at Pleasantview Primary School. Her determination and hard work led her to become honored as the 2009-2010 Teacher of the Year at Gray Court-Owings (GCO) School when she served as a teacher in second grade. Bragg has been part of the LES Family before. She taught as a second-grade teacher from 2015-2019. She also taught 4th & 5th grade Upper Elementary Montessori at LES from 2019-2021. She has also served as the LES School Improvement Council President.
Principal Ashley Bragg said, “I am honored and excited to join Laurens Elementary as the school principal! I look forward to working closely with our dedicated staff, supportive parents, and, most importantly, our amazing students to ensure that LES continues to be a place of excellence where every child feels valued and inspired to reach their fullest potential. This community has been the place I’ve called home my entire life. It’s humbling to serve the students, their parents, and my staff in this capacity! We are going to have an amazing year!”
Throughout her career in education, Bragg exhibited a collaborative spirit and a growth mindset. She and Sanders Middle School (SMS) Principal Joshua Dawkins have accomplished great things together at SMS. He has great confidence that Ashley Bragg will continue her great work at LES.
Joshua Dawkins said, “We are sad to see Mrs. Bragg leave the Sanders family but we are excited for her as she embarks on a new endeavor! Her passion for teacher and student success will keep the momentum moving forward at Laurens Elementary. I look forward to seeing her grow and impact the Laurens community!”
LES Assistant Principal Jena Curry shared her excitement about having Ashley Bragg at LES. She shared, “I am thrilled to welcome Mrs. Bragg to Laurens Elementary. Her passion for education and her strong commitment to this school community will add value to our school family. I look forward to working together to bring LES to new heights of academic excellence.”
