Local author and life coach, Karin Freeland, creates workbook for career transitions

The Career Compass is the latest endeavor from local author and life coach, Karin Freeland.
The Career Compass is a companion piece workbook to her book, “Grab Life by the Dreams,” which was published in 2023. The workbook walks women through the decision-making process of career transitions so they have a framework to take the emotion out of the decision and really focus on what they value most.
“The Career Compass is your first step toward making savvy, empowered career decisions,” Freeland said. “If you’re anything like me or the clients I’ve coached, the thought of leaving your corporate career behind can be overwhelming. However, staying on a career path that makes you feel stuck and resentful is NOT the answer.”
This is a story Freeland understands personally.
A New York native, she spent almost 15 years in the corporate sector where she oversaw the creation and launch of global brands through her roles as Chief of Staff to the President of Verizon Enterprise Solutions and Head of Demand Generation & Field Marketing for North America at Centrica Business Solutions, before making the leap to consulting as Vice President of Digital GTM and Learning at JS Group.
She now runs Karin Freeland Coaching & Consulting LLC in Greenville where she focuses on helping clients overcome burnout, balance their work and personal lives, and achieve their biggest career goals, so they can live a more fulfilling purpose-driven life and increase their impact in the community.
“The decision to make a career change, especially for women, is a difficult one with many layers,” Freeland said. “One of my goals of the workbook and my consulting company is to help make that career breakthrough step easier.”
