Dorchester County Rosebrock Park and Davis-Bailey Park open TRACK Trails for kids and families

The Dorchester County Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with the Kids in Parks program, announced the grand opening of new TRACK Trails at Rosebrock Park (507 Beech Hill Rd., Summerville) and Davis-Bailey Park (5190 E. Jim Bilton Blvd., St. George). These trails offer engaging, educational outdoor experiences for kids and families.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on September 27, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Rosebrock Park, located at 507 Beech Hill Rd, Summerville.

TRACK Trails are designed to turn an ordinary hike into a fun-filled adventure through the use of self-guided activity brochures. One activity, “Types of Trees,” helps children identify and learn about various oak, maple, and pine trees along the trail. Another activity, “Birds of the Woods and Wetlands,” helps participants recognize popular bird species in the area.

Children who participate in the TRACK Trails program can register their adventures at KidsInParks.com to earn exciting prizes, enhancing their future outdoor experiences. Since its launch, over one million TRACK Trail adventures have been logged by children nationwide.
