Embrace the Wild: Gene Ott Photography Exhibit Opens at Laurens County Museum

The Laurens County Museum is thrilled to announce the opening of a new exhibit showcasing the stunning nature and wildlife photography of Edwin Eugene (Gene) Ott. The exhibit will run from October 1-31, 2024, at the museum, located at 116 South Public Square in Laurens, SC.

A celebrated local photographer and wildlife expert, Gene Ott captures the beauty and diversity of Laurens County’s natural world through his lens. His work highlights the vibrant bird species, reptiles, and mammals that call the area home.

To kick off the exhibit, Ott will present a special lecture on The Birds of Laurens County on October 1, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. This lecture will follow the exhibit’s official opening at 10:00 a.m. Another lecture, focusing on Reptiles and Mammals of Laurens County, will take place on October 15, 2024, at 7:00 p.m.

The public is invited to immerse themselves in the wild side of Laurens County through Ott’s captivating photography and informative presentations. Visitors can explore the exhibit during museum hours throughout October and learn more about the region’s rich natural history.
