September 23, 2024The SC Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities Foundation announced Thad Dulin’s appointment as its new Treasurer. Dulin, an Upstate native and passionate advocate for the arts, brings years of financial and board expertise to the Foundation. Dulin earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from Clemson University. After a career in professional cycling, he became a financial advisor with UBS Wealth Management, where he has demonstrated exceptional leadership and financial acumen. Since 2018, Forbes magazine, a renowned authority in the financial world, has recognized Dulin as an industry leader.
“We are thrilled to welcome Thad as our new treasurer,” said Amanda Herlihy, executive director of the Governor’s School Foundation. “His extensive experience in financial management and his dedication to our mission will be invaluable as we continue to enhance and advance arts education opportunities for talented young artists in South Carolina. As the School celebrates its 25th anniversary, Thad’s appointment to this position will be instrumental in helping strengthen the Foundation’s impact during this milestone year.”
As the treasurer, Dulin will oversee financial management, internal controls and compliance, and investment strategies. His role is crucial, not only for ensuring the Foundation’s financial health and sustainability, but also for significantly enhancing the Foundation’s efforts to provide access to the school for students with financial needs, support the school’s efforts to provide arts education in under-resourced counties, and bridge the gap between state funding and the unique needs of a premier public arts school.
Dulin’s extensive experience serving on several local boards, including the Neighborhood Cancer Connection, the Greenville Symphony Orchestra, and the Clemson University Institute for Global Road Safety and Security Advancement, further strengthens his ability to contribute to this role.
“I am not just excited but deeply humbled to be a part of the SC Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities Foundation as treasurer,” said Dulin. “I am eager to contribute to the Foundation’s mission of nurturing the artistic talents of our state’s young people and ensuring they have the resources and support they need to thrive.”
The Governor’s School Foundation remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering the development of young artists and providing them with exceptional educational opportunities.
