Cal Watson and Molly Campolong honored for excellence by SC Lawyers Weekly

Two attorneys with Robinson Gray – Cal Watson and Molly Campolong – were honored by S.C. Lawyers Weekly at its annual “SC Excellence in Law” award banquet in Charleston.
They were recognized for excellence at different stages in a legal career. Cal Watson, the firm’s managing partner, was named as an “Icon” of the South Carolina bar. Member Molly Campolong was cited as a “Phenom.”
Aside from recognition at the banquet, the publication publishes a special section each year, featuring a photo and profile of each honoree.
Cal has practiced for more than 35 years, representing individuals, local and national businesses, partnerships, insurance companies, and financial institutions in a wide variety of complex business and insurance disputes.
He has been honored by Best Lawyers in America many times, including being named a Lawyer of the Year in 2016, 2022 and 2024. He has been recognized repeatedly by South Carolina “Super Lawyers” and has been honored multiple years by Chambers U.S.A. on its America’s Leading Lawyers for Business directory. Cal is a past president of the South Carolina Bar, the South Carolina Bar Foundation, and the John Belton O’Neall Inn of Court. He currently serves on the Meritas board of directors.
Molly splits her practice between commercial transactions and insolvency and creditor’s rights representation. She assists clients with purchasing and selling real estate, real estate financing, reviewing and drafting business contracts and commercial leases, entity choice, entity formation, collection matters, complex workouts, and bankruptcies.
She has been honored by Best Lawyers in America and cited as one of Columbia Business Monthly’s Legal Elite of the Midlands multiple times. She is Secretary of the Meritas Emerging Leader’s Advisory Board, Chair of the Meritas Bankruptcy, Insolvency and Creditor’s Rights practice group, and on the Executive Committee of the J. Bratton Davis Bankruptcy American Inn of Court. She is also a past president of the Midlands Chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women.
