Experience a signature take on 60s rock with The Boxmasters featuring Billy Bob Thornton
The Boxmasters, featuring Billy Bob Thornton, will be at Harbison Theatre one night only, October 18, 2024. Opening for The Boxmasters will be local favorites the Capital City Playboys.
Since forming in 2007, The Boxmasters have recorded a diverse catalog with a wide array of influences, but most importantly, the rock and roll of the 1960s. Several long-time friends have contributed to the sound of the band, but the core of The Boxmasters has always been J.D. Andrew and Billy Bob (Bud) Thornton. The group is celebrating the release of their 17th album, “Love & Hate In Desperate Places,” with a signature blend of 60s rock and fresh, heavier sounds.
“It’s exciting to bring this eclectic, blues band to town,” said executive director, Kristin Cobb. “Billy Bob Thornton, known to many as a legendary Hollywood actor, has really embraced this music journey over the past 17 years. The Boxmasters are a standout band and to have this show in our 400-seat venue is going to be more than special.”
The Capital City Playboys will kick off the night with their electrifying blend of rock ‘n’ roll, rockabilly, and garage rock. Known for their high-energy performances, they’ve been thrilling fans across the Southeast since 2009.
