Connect Lake Greenwood Welcomes New Director Adele Alducin

October 8, 2024

At a recent fall social event, Connect Lake Greenwood, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing life on Lake Greenwood, celebrated a significant leadership change. Jimmy Peden, the longtime Director and Organizer, announced his retirement, leaving a legacy of dedication to the community. Stepping into his role is Adele Alducin, a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience in event planning and a former Main Street Director for the City of Clinton.

Ms. Alducin, who also resides on Lake Greenwood, expressed her excitement about leading this established organization. She shared her vision of the lake as a community hub, comparing it to a “Main Street,” with surrounding properties serving as the “town” that makes up this vibrant community.

“While we’re known for our spectacular Lights on the Lake and fireworks, Connect Lake Greenwood is so much more than just a seasonal spectacle. We are a beacon of community engagement, economic growth, and cultural enrichment,” Alducin stated. “CLG illuminates not just the night sky, but also the potential of Lake Greenwood and its surrounding counties—Greenwood, Laurens, and Newberry.”

Connect Lake Greenwood, a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization, aims to advocate for, enhance, and promote the enjoyment of life on the lake for all who live, work, and play there. Under Alducin’s leadership, the organization will continue fostering a sense of belonging through year-round events, driving local business, increasing tourism, and strengthening community bonds.

“Our events provide a platform for local vendors, artisans, and businesses to showcase their products and services,” Alducin added. “For businesses, we offer unique sponsorship and membership opportunities, providing visibility and community goodwill while directly reaching a demographic eager to support local enterprises.”

With a new leader at the helm, Connect Lake Greenwood is poised to continue its mission of enhancing the lake community, ensuring it remains a vital part of the surrounding counties’ social and economic landscape.
