City of Laurens Cancels October 8th Planning Commission Meeting Amid Hurricane Recovery Efforts

The City of Laurens has announced the cancellation of its Planning Commission meeting, originally scheduled for October 8th, due to ongoing recovery efforts from Hurricane Helene. Eric Delgado, Laurens City Administrator stated they will reschedule the meeting and provide an update with the new date as soon as possible.

Over the past week, city staff has been fully engaged in supporting Laurens County’s damage assessment and recovery operations in response to the hurricane. Initially, there was hope that normal operations would resume in time for the meeting, but it has become clear that more time is needed to focus on recovery.

“We appreciate everyone’s understanding as we take this necessary pause,” Delgado said. “We will keep the community updated on when the Planning Commission meeting will be rescheduled.”
