Cross Hill Community Health and Service Fair to Offer Free Health Screenings and Support
October 8, 2024The Cross Hill Community Health and Service Fair will take place on Thursday, October 17, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Cross Hill Town Center, next to the fire station. This event is free and open to the community, offering a range of valuable health services, information, and assistance programs.
A nurse from Self Regional Healthcare will be conducting free health assessments, including blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes screenings. Participants can take advantage of these screenings to stay on top of their health and receive evaluations and information that can help with ongoing care and prevention.
Laura Moore, from Moore Power Insurance, will be present to assist with 2025 Medicare open enrollment sign-ups, including Medicaid-Medicare dual enrollment and “Extra Help” for prescription drug discount assistance. Moore will also provide information on new Part D rulings for 2025 and offer enrollment support for those who lost Medicaid coverage and are under 65.
Representatives from the Department of Public Health will be available to provide outreach information and assistance with various community programs, ensuring residents have access to the resources they need.
In addition, information and applications for hurricane Helene programs will be offered, aimed at helping those in need of recovery support.
A staffing coordinator will also be on hand to share details about local job opportunities, making the fair a great resource for those seeking employment in the area.
Light refreshments will be served during the event.
