The Assistant Registrar coordinates the grade entry process for faculty including grade changes, grade appeals and serves as a liaison with USC. Counsels students with concerns surrounding transfer credit, withdrawals, academic discipline and appeals to University regulations. Manages degree audit functional operations providing support to academic advisors, students, and personnel. Serves as the main responsible party in the absence of the Registrar.
• Coordinate the process for grade entry, grade changes and grade appeals.
• Responsible for academic discipline process, including probation and suspension and student appeal.
• Responsible for processing transient permission forms and posting transfer work from other institutions. Keeps equivalency tables up-to-date for accurate course articulation.
• Responsible for degree audit system, including transfer credit and knowledge of University curriculums.
• Responsible for registration issues after the semester begins including enrollment discrepancies.
• Meets with students to discuss their concerns and counsel students on regulations as listed in the catalog and the advisability of pursuing remedies or appeals open to them.
• Other duties as assigned

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience: Requires a bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience. A successful background check is required.

Preferred Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in human services, counseling, student personnel, or human resources and 3 years of related experience are preferred. Prefer work experience in higher education. Banner experience is desirable.
